Albert Whitman & Company is an independent publisher of children's books best known for the classic series, The Boxcar Children® Mysteries. Many of their books address challenging life situations— kids who must deal with prejudice or bullies; kids who must live with asthma or autism or HIV; kids whose families have been torn apart by divorce, war, or death.

E-COMMERCE & CONTENT MANAGEMENT
After supporting the Albert Whitman site for eight years, Thirdwave was tasked with implementing e-commerce on the site. A shopping cart system was built and order processing was implemented. An Order Manager was created so Albert Whitman employees can track orders, print invoices, and generate notices once an order has shipped. The site was recoded to optimize it for search engines and allow for future expansion and the Content Management System was upgraded to Thirdwave's newest MasterView version.
Other features on the site include wishlists, emailing book pages and wishlists, and user account creation and management. The CMS also provides a comprehensive Book Manager for storing all of the associated book and author data.
